These might just be the best thing…EVER! How awesome are these covers to our research books?! I found some pictures of their animals, and Mrs. Clarke (librarian) and Mrs. Eckman (technology coach) used a green screen to put them in there with their animal!!! Research will be coming home soon, so you’ll get to have your very own copy of it!
Today we pretended to be Orthopedic Surgeons while making contractions! We had a fun time with the gloves and masks that were donated. :) We had so much fun disguising our turkeys! Thank you all so much for helping your child brainstorm ideas, there was some super creative ideas! Some friends had some great supplies to create this project. Hope you all have a fantastic Thanksgiving!!! We had so much fun at our fall party. Thank you all for coming to help us! We had a super fun game day! We got to experience some fun new games. There are some pictures below! Have a great weekend. We had a super fun time today at Cavett. The fire department came to visit us! We got to see them all dressed in their gear and learn a little about what they do! Some of us even got rescued. :) Today was Talent Day at Cavett. We have already showcased our talents during star of the week, so we did it a little differently! We took some time to draw a picture of something we were really great at! After we were done we got to do a museum walk to see what great artists our friends are! There are few times we get to do activities like this, so it was great fun in first grade. After not being able to go and then finding out yesterday we could go, we were so excited to be able to go to the nature center today! It turned out to be a beautiful day! We were able to see some animals and different habitats. Here are some pictures of our trip. There might not be pictures of all of your friends because we were divided into kind of odd groups! Today our spirit day was Game Day. We went outside and had a relay race as a class. The friends had to balance an egg on a spoon and make it down and back to their friends. The wind proved to make this more challenging, but we still managed to do it! After that the friends chose to play with bubbles, sidewalk chalk, or continue the egg game. It was a celebration of a lot of things today! We have made it all the way through third quarter here in first grade! We are becoming experts at quarters so we know that means we have 1/4 of our year left in first grade! We loved our read-a-thon and were even lucky enough to have Mr. Vercellino stop by while we were reading. We also celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday today, since we didn't have time on Wednesday. We were able to get onto the Seussville website and found some super fun games! If you go to Mrs. Clarke's library page, http://wp.lps.org/mediacavett/, you will be able to scroll down and click on the 1 for first grade and then click on the Seusville link. I actually think if you got your child to Mrs. Clarke's page you would be able to have them find it! We also celebrated movie day today, our spirit day for the month, by watching some Dr. Seuss classics! Hope your first grade friends find some time to do something fun over their much needed break. |
